Shai Azoulay | שי אזולאי

Shai Azoulay (b. 1971) is an Israeli painter, living and working in Jerusalem. He decided to be an artist at the age of 24, after traveling in the world, and since then has received both his BFA (2000) and MFA (2007) from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. As a father of six, he spends his time between making art and intensive family life.

In 2011 Azoulay had his first major museum show at the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art, and in 2018 he had a solo show at the Herzliya museum of contemporary art. His works have been exhibited in solo shows in New York, London, Tokyo, Vienna, Chicago and Beijing. Among the awards and scholarships he received: award from the Tel Aviv Museum, “Mozes” Prize from the Jerusalem Artist house, Award for extraordinary artistic achievement from Bezalel Academy, The Ministry of Education Grant, Artis Grant, and The Minister of Education Prize.
