Yulia Frydin | יוליה פריידין

Yulia Frydin (b. 1983) is a multidisciplinary artist, with a BFA from Hamidrasha at Beit Berl College. Frydin was born in Kiev and immigrated to Israel in 1990. Her passion for art started in her childhood, as she was drawn to painting with watercolors, dancing, taking up photography and writing poems. All the while, she received her education in a tough Soviet gymnastic school, which stretched the boundaries of her young body. In her art, Frydin now searches for bodily ways to grow her roots in a new landscape, while questioning what it means to be a secular Jewish immigrant woman in Israel today.
