Yonatan Zofy | יונתן צופי

Yonatan Zofy is an Israeli artist, with a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (2011). He is the winner of the Osnat Moses prize for young painter (2017), and his works have been exhibited at the Tel Aviv museum, the Israel Museum, the Jerusalem Artists House, and in various galleries. His works are in the Israel Museum collection, Tel Aviv Museum of art collection, the Knesset collection and private collections.

In his works, Zofy places the focus on the nature of materials: instead of using them as an instrument for his self expression, he uses himself as an instrument to enhance the presence of the materials. Each of his works is conceived before its execution as a match between the same three elements: The Material, The Image and The Action – the way the material is applied.
