Diana Kogan | דיאנה קוגן

Freshpaint 8, 9

Diana Kogan (b.1988) is an Israeli painter, immigrating to Israel from the Soviet Union in 1996. currently, living and working in Tel Aviv. She holds a BFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (2015), and continued to post graduate studies at HGB Academy of Art in Leipzig, Germany, accompanied by Christoph Ruckhaberle’s master class (2017). Kogan is inspired by nature and her surroundings, and dedicates a lot of her time to the outside: wandering around, observing, trying to catch the elusiveness of the moment. She then takes this impression back to the studio, painting it in a bigger scale based on her memory or on sketches she made outside. Her works translate aspects of daily life into poetic metaphors, on the range between reality and dream.

Kogan exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in Israel, Germany, Austria and Detroit, at P8 gallery, Zemack gallery, Hanina Gallery, Edmond de Rothschild Center, Artspace gallery and more. Kogan was nominated as emerging young artist by the curator Hagai Segev and Ashdod museum for Contemporary Art (2012). She was awarded the Hashin’s family stipend for excellence in drawing and painting (2015) and the Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts grant for Special Projects (2019) as support for her solo exhibition Backyard at ATAR art residency. Her works are in several private art collections in Israel and abroad and in the art collection of Bank Leumi.
