Vera Vladimirsky (b. 1984) is an Israeli artist currently living and working in Tel-Aviv. She was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and Immigrated to Israel In 1991. Vladimirsky has both a BFA (Department of Photography) and an MFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. Her main medium of work is photography, alongside collage, assemblage and installation. She aspires to challenge the medium as she creates hybrid images through a multi-layered process. She photographs and prints the images, disassembles them into sculptural, three-dimensional structures, and re-photographs them for a final, two-dimensional photograph. She combines multiple point of views and brings together different places, periods of time and cultural encounters, in a reconstructed new narrative.
In recent years, Vladimirsky has exhibited in galleries, photography festivals and art fairs in Israel and abroad (England, Germany, Greece, Slovenia, and more). She participated in well-known art residencies, such as The Fountainhead in Miami, FL, and the Andrea Zittel residency and art program in Joshua Tree, CA. In 2016 she was awarded Young Artist prize by Israel’s ministry of culture, and in 2018 she received the Yuri Stern Prize, by Israel’s Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
